"Keep calm I'm just pregnant"
"YES!" The moment you see the line, yay there's a little one coming.. full of joy and happiness and fully in the moment. He/she is so wanted, so welcome and already so loved. I still remember it like it was yesterday, that moment was hilarious! I came back from a girls' night and my man was already asleep. I had bought the tests because I had doubts and was already 3 days late. I was super shocked and happy when I saw the line and ran to the bedroom. I woke him up and told him that we were pregnant and he said: "Ah try again tomorrow" (the pregnancy test, you know) while he was asleep and without any idea what I had even said, he fell asleep again. MEN!! I was so surprised that I decided to go to sleep and just test again the next day.. Ohh.. Still!! I AM REALLY PREGNANT!
Before you think I'm pregnant NOW and going to congratulate us, this is my story from 2016! (haha)
I grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to the toilet and pointed at the 2 tests, there he stood stiff as a stick without realizing..OMG already?!" I was launched into the air and thrown through the room with joy. So happy, but then comes the moment of shit.. what now?!
"But we had just made a 6 year plan to renovate the house, now it has to be done in 9 months!" and whoop there came the stress. Uhm and what do we have to do and arrange now. We had really been busy with 1 thing 1 mission and that was to get pregnant, never thought of it and then?!
Luckily there is the internet that tells you what to do and when to call the midwife etc. LONG LIVE THE INTERNET!
Here and there I have collected lists of things you need when you are expecting a baby. You know them, google "maternity list or maternity kit list" and you will find plenty!
But pay attention up! because some things you have to buy as a "precaution" and you often don't need them.
So where we could we borrowed or received many products from friends and family. Like a hot water bottle, you need 2 in case the little one can't keep warm himself. I can tell you that Maud was born on a very hot day and lay with a hot water bottle for exactly 1 day and sweated so much that the maternity nurse had to take it away. In other words, this is one of those products that I fortunately borrowed myself.
Do you also have a nice "I'm pregnant moment"? Then share it with us and respond below with your story. I'm super curious about the reactions.
xxx Love,
Danielle
